The concept for the innovative bench design emerged from a desire to merge functionality, aesthetics, and adaptability into a single, cohesive element within the store’s environment. The intention was to create seating that remained practical and comfortable while embodying a sense of fluidity and visual continuity. Drawing inspiration from the gentle, flowing curves found in Mistry’s leather bags, I explored how those soft forms could be translated into a physical structure that feels dynamic, inviting, and seamlessly integrated into the space.
The design revolved around a central spine that served as the main structural core, functioning much like an amoeba that adapts to its surroundings. This spine created a flexible framework that allowed multiple modular components to be attached and rearranged based on spatial needs. Each curve and intersection was thoughtfully shaped to ensure the bench flowed naturally within the store, aligning with the architectural rhythm while maintaining its own sculptural identity.
This system enabled on-site customization, allowing the bench to evolve according to functional requirements or spatial constraints. It could serve as a centerpiece, a subtle extension of the display area, or a continuous seating element that guided movement through the space. The final piece existed in harmony with the interior, echoing the organic character of the products while offering comfort, visual softness, and adaptability. The design ultimately reflected Mistry’s brand philosophy of craftsmanship, versatility, and timeless form.
